Lighter and smaller - now there's a change
Mazda drew in the Geneva crowds with two key show cars – its sprightly new Mazda 2 supermini and the radical Hakaze crossover concept. In a world that’s piling on the pounds, the Mazda 2 bucks the trend – it’s smaller in all directions and weighs a full 100kg less than the outgoing model. The result is better emissions and economy, tidier handling and punchier performance, according to the spec sheet.
Hyundai sprung a trio of surprises at the 2012 Paris motor show - by launching the i20 WRC rally car, a three-door version of the i30 hatchback and an ix35 fuel-cell car ready for sale in just a few months' time. Three world debuts for Hyundai at Paris motor show 2012: the i20 WRC rally car
The headline-grabbing launch on the Hyundai stand was this rally-ready i20. The Koreans have form here, with an Accent racer, but it last competed in WRC in 2003; now, a decade later, Hyundai plans to re-enter the new WRC with its own in-house team.

Charles Morgan, who was ousted by the Morgan Motor Company's board this week after a decade at the marque, has released a statement reacting to his forced departure, and confirming his intention to fight the decision. You can read the statement in its entirety below. Charles Morgan has posted a single entry on a personal blog, outlining his dismay at the decision, and announcing he will appeal against the board.
